Summer Micro Wedding in Skylandia Park, Tahoe

Jenn and Brian’s micro wedding day at Skylandia Park, Tahoe, was everything the couple wanted. It was intimate, authentic and packed with moments that felt like them! They wanted a spot that brought their favorite Tahoe views, room for their kids to run around, and a vibe that kept it chill yet meaningful for everyone who showed up to celebrate. And that’s exactly what they got!

Their Forest Micro Wedding Ceremony

Jenn and Brian got ready at BaseCamp Tahoe City (check it out if you’re looking for a laid-back spot with plenty of Tahoe charm), and had their first look as Jenn walked down the “aisle” to meet him. Jenn looked incredible, and Brian’s reaction was priceless. These are the kinds of moments I live to capture.

And their little boys were THE cutest! They were ring bearers, walking ahead of Jenn down the aisle, and there was this moment where they just looked so proud, holding hands and leading the way. It’s those small, unscripted things that make a wedding day feel like more than just a ceremony. Watching Jenn and Brian share these memories with their boys, you could see how tight-knit they are as a family.

One of the best parts of this day was how personal it felt. Jenn’s sister baked cookies for everyone and shared a reading and prayer after the ceremony, and Brian’s lifelong friend was the one to officiate. I loved how they included their loved ones in their big day!

Wrapping Up With Cake and Bourbon

After the vows, it was time to celebrate. They cut into a beautiful, minimalist wedding cake decorated with flowers, toasted with bourbon in custom glasses (shout-out to their friend for that thoughtful gift), and spent the rest of the evening just soaking it all in with their people. No big production, just real moments with the people who matter most.

And, of course, we snuck away for some alone time and those beautiful elopement portraits with the Lake Tahoe backdrops!

Finding the Perfect Spot, Skylandia Park in Tahoe

Jenn and Brian are truly an adventurous pair. They’re all about the outdoors, whether it’s hiking, running (they even completed a marathon together!), or camping. They used to climb together in Yosemite and love to bike and scooter with their little ones. Their connection is strong—they finish each other’s sentences, think alike, and share the same values around family and the future they want to build together.

Choosing to elope in Tahoe was a natural choice for them. The views, the memories they’ve already made here, and the fact that they can revisit this special place in years to come made it the perfect backdrop for their day.

Skylandia Park is a hidden gem in Lake Tahoe and definitely one of my top spots for couples who want to bring a few guests. You get those killer lake and forest views, but because it’s out of the way, you also get some peace and quiet. It’s rare to find a spot that’s not overrun with visitors on a beautiful summer day like theirs. You can have your family and friends close, but still step away for a quiet moment when it’s just the two of you and the lake. And the parking is easy, which is always a nice bonus!

Kind Words

“All I can say is WOW! I spent the whole night looking at everyone, smiling and feeling the feels all over again! Everyone still talks about you! We miss you and your energy! Everyone loved you!! Thank you!“
