Peter and Marina had the most beautiful boat elopement on Lake Tahoe, near DL Bliss. It was everything they dreamed of—full of laughter, chill vibes, intimacy, and being surrounded by their closest loved ones.
Peter and Marina’s story began in Vail about two years ago. Marina was on the verge of moving when she met Peter online, and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. It wasn’t long before they realized they were meant to be together. After deciding they wanted a bit more affordable mountain town to call home, they set their sights on Tahoe. Now, they live just a few minutes from me, with their boat docked right outside their backdoor. Talk about living the dream, right?!
On the day of the elopement, Peter’s dad officiated the ceremony, making it even more personal and special. Surrounded by their closest family, they boarded a classic boat for the ceremony, while I captured everything from their boat captained by the couple’s friend.
The ceremony was so sweet, especially with cheers and honks from nearby boats and beachgoers! After the ceremony was over, I hopped on the classic boat with the newlyweds to capture those dreamy post-ceremony moments on the water with just the two of them!
Their day was such a beautiful example of how to still include your friends and family in your elopement. You don’t have to elope just the two of you, if that doesn’t feel right for you!
It’s Lake Tahoe, so of course, one of the most fun and unique ways to elope is on a boat! There are several charters that can accommodate just the two of you, your officiant, the boat captain, and your photographer. I highly recommend Lake Tahoe Classic Boats for the most unique and intimate elopement experience!
Lake Tahoe is stunning at any time of day, but I really recommend planning your elopement to hit the golden hour. It’s going to be absolutely magical on the water! I also recommend packing some layers because it can get breezy on the water.
Peter and Marina were beyond excited with how easy yet unique their elopement was. No stress, just them and their closest loved ones and commiting to each other in a way that felt authentic to them.
If you’re also planning your elopement here and still looking for your Lake Tahoe elopement photographer and planner, I’d love to meet with you! From the moment you book with me to the day you say your vows, I’ll be there to make sure every detail is handled so you can focus on what really matters!
