Morgan and Mark’s intimate Zephyr Cove micro wedding was absolutely beautiful, with towering pine trees, iconic Tahoe boulders, and lake views as their backdrop. They didn’t want a large wedding; they wanted to celebrate their love with their closest people surrounded by beautiful nature—and that’s exactly what happened!
Mark and Morgan envisioned a lakeside ceremony that would be both beautiful and accessible for their closest family and friends. Zephyr Cove was the perfect fit for this.
The towering pine trees framed their ceremony space, and the lake and mountain views were the most amazing backdrop! The easy walking path leading to the beach made it a seamless experience for their small group of guests. The meadow nearby provided a lovely spot for their first dance, parent dances, and even a mini-dance party—a beautiful way to weave traditions into their micro-wedding.
As a Lake Tahoe elopement photographer, Zephyr Cove is one of my favorite spots for small weddings and elopements. It really offers so much! Being a state park, it’s important to note there are parking fees, and a permit may be required for your event—but don’t worry, I’m here to help you navigate all of that. The wedding day itself was filled with meaningful moments and thoughtful details that truly reflected Morgan and Mark’s personalities. Mark wore his grandfather’s tie clip, and when he shared its story, there wasn’t a dry eye among us. It was such a heartfelt reminder of the connections we carry with us on these special days.
They chose their close friend to officiate, and he was a natural! He had the perfect personality for the job. Also, Morgan and her friends had crafted their bouquets the night before, and they were stunning!
After the lakeside vows, Mark and Morgan shared their first dance in a nearby meadow, surrounded by their guests. They also included parent dances and a spontaneous group dance session! It was a unique way to include tradition and your closest loved ones into an intimate elopement day.
Morgan’s laughter was infectious as she bounced from rock to rock across the Tahoe boulders with her dress flowing behind her. The joy she radiated was contagious, and the relaxed, laid-back vibe of the day made everyone feel at ease. It was clear that this celebration was about being present in the moment and cherishing the love and laughter shared with family and friends.
While Zephyr Cove is relatively accessible, there are some things to keep in mind:
“The photos are AMAZING!!! I love them!!! SO MUCH!!! You are so talented and do amazing work! I am SO SO grateful!!”
Morgan and Mark’s wedding was a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do. Capturing intimate, joyful celebrations in breathtaking locations like Zephyr Cove is an honor I don’t take lightly.
